VALUE PROPOSITION DESIGN SERVICES

How we design and validate stronger value propositions

Customer value proposition design
Customer value proposition design
We design clear customer value propositions based on customer needs, product strengths, and market context. This service helps teams define why customers should choose their product, what value should be emphasized, and how the offer should evolve across segments.
Value proposition validation
Value proposition validation
A value proposition should not stay on slides or in workshops. We validate value propositions through research to understand whether customers find them relevant, clear, and worth choosing. This includes proposition testing research to identify what resonates, what feels weak, and what needs refinement.
Pricing & Monetization research
Pricing & Monetization research
A strong value proposition also needs the right pricing and packaging logic. We combine value proposition consulting with pricing research to explore feature-value trade-offs, willingness to pay, and monetization options that make the offer more attractive and commercially viable.
Product-market fit research
Product-market fit research
Sometimes the problem is not only how the value proposition is written but whether the product actually solves a meaningful problem for the right audience. Our product-market fit research helps teams test assumptions, understand demand, and identify whether the proposition has real traction in the market.
UX & Proposition testing
UX & Proposition testing
In many cases, value is lost in the interface. We test how users experience product flows, offers, and key interactions to understand whether the product communicates value clearly in use. This work connects UX value proposition issues with real user behavior and helps teams validate value beyond messaging alone.

UVP DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

From research to rollout, here is how we work together

Some teams come to us with a clear idea but weak market response. Others are still deciding what proposition, pricing, or packaging direction makes the most sense. The process depends on the question that needs to be answered during value proposition design services.
1. First touch

We start with a short discussion to understand what triggered the project. Sometimes the issue is weak conversion, unclear positioning, poor feature adoption, or pricing that no longer matches perceived value. In other cases, the team is preparing a launch and wants stronger evidence before going live.

This stage helps us define whether the project needs full customer value proposition design, validation, monetization research, or a narrower research track. We also clarify business goals, timing, internal constraints, and what a useful outcome should look like for your team.

Time to deliver:1-3 days
2. Objectives definition

Once we understand the context, we translate the business problem into research and decision goals. Instead of a vague task like “improve the proposition,” we define sharper questions: what should be tested, what needs to be redesigned, and which assumptions are currently too risky to leave unvalidated.

This is where value proposition strategy starts to take shape. We identify which customer segments matter most, which parts of the offer need closer attention, and what the team ultimately wants to decide – for example positioning, packaging, pricing, or rollout direction.

Time to deliver:2-5 days
3. Research phase

At this stage we gather the evidence needed to design or refine the proposition. Depending on the project, this may include customer interviews, JTBD research, competitor benchmarking, pricing studies, usability testing, or review of existing customer data.

The goal is to understand what customers value, what they ignore, what they compare, and what makes them hesitate. In many projects, customer value proposition consulting begins here – not with abstract messaging work but with research into unmet needs, decision triggers, trade-offs, and real market expectations.

Time to deliver:2-3 weeks
4. Value proposition design

Using the research findings, we shape proposition directions that are clearer, more differentiated, and more relevant to the target audience. This can include value hierarchy, message structure, packaging logic, feature emphasis, or monetization options.

This stage is the core of value proposition development services. Sometimes the output is one refined direction. Sometimes it is several proposition options for different segments, use cases, or pricing models. The goal is not just to describe some value better but to build an offer customers find valuable.

Time to deliver:1-2 weeks
5. Validation stage

Before strategic decisions are made, we test whether the proposed direction actually works. This can involve concept testing, pricing research, message testing, or broader proposition testing research depending on the business question.

This stage is critical for value proposition validation. It helps teams see whether customers understand the offer, whether it feels relevant, whether it stands apart from alternatives, and whether the value is strong enough to support adoption or monetization. In products with onboarding or transactional friction, we may also examine the UX value proposition to see whether the interface itself weakens perceived value.

Time to deliver:1-2 weeks
6. Roadmap and rollout

Once the proposition has been tested, we turn the findings into concrete next steps. This may include prioritizing changes, refining pricing or packaging, aligning product and marketing teams, or building a roadmap for rollout by segment or market.

At this point, the work moves from insight to action. A value proposition designer or product team can use the outputs to guide launch planning, feature prioritization, GTM changes, or future research. If needed, we also support implementation and help teams evaluate whether the new proposition is improving the target KPI over time.

Time to deliver:3-5 days

    FAQ

    Frequent questions about value proposition

What industries do you work with?

In the last few years, much of our value proposition consulting work has focused on financial products – including banking, credit unions, personal finance management, lending, credit, and BNPL solutions.

At the same time, our team has more than 10 years of research experience overall, so we are not limited to fintech only. If the product has customers, market pressure, and value decisions to make, we can help with it.

Do you work only on value proposition for fintech products?

No. We have strong experience with value proposition strategy for fintech and financial services but the approach itself is not fintech-specific.

We can apply the same research and validation logic to SaaS, digital services, marketplaces, healthcare products, and other industries where teams need clearer positioning, better packaging, or stronger proposition-market fit.

How much do value proposition design services cost?

The cost depends on the scope of the research, the complexity of the product, and the type of respondents involved. A project built around expert interviews or international recruiting will look different from one based on internal customer data and a few focused tests.

If you tell us what is unclear, risky, or underperforming, we will scope the work and calculate the budget for the right value proposition design services.

What research methods do you use?

It depends on the question we need to answer.

Our  value proposition consulting projects may include customer interviews, JTBD research, concept testing, proposition testing research, message testing, competitor benchmarking, usability testing, conjoint analysis, pricing surveys, or feature-value prioritization.

We choose methods based on the decision the team needs to make; no fixed templates.

Can you help if we already have a product?

Yes. Many teams come to us not at idea stage but when the product already exists and the market response is weaker than expected. In these cases, value proposition validation helps us understand whether the issue is in the offer itself, the pricing, the messaging, the UX, or the segment being targeted.

Do you validate value propositions with real users or customers?

Yes. We validate value proposition directions through with real people to see whether they understand the offer, find it relevant, and see enough value in it to act.

What do we get at the end of the project?

That depends on the scope but usually the outcome includes proposition directions, customer insights, testing results, and practical recommendations. Our value proposition development services are meant to support real product decision.
